MLC Mental Services is dedicated to providing dignified therapeutic assessment and treatment services for youth, adolescents, and adults. We provide virtual care in English and Spanish. Our experienced team of bilingual  professionals offer a confidential environment for clients to explore, address and build the skills needed to manage trauma and move forward.

Services

Evaluation

We conduct confidential psychological assessments for clients of diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. Assessments may be used to request special education accommodations, obtain access to public benefits, or as advocacy support in legal matters. Evaluations include psychosocial assessment, use of standardized screening tools, report preparation, and translation services (as needed). 

Therapy

We offer individual, couples, and family talk therapy through of telehealth.

Clients participating in this service will benefit by:​

  • Gaining a better understanding of oneself

  • Learning how to handle emotions and triggers

  • Identifying the underlying causes of symptoms

  • Learning coping strategies

  • Managing lifestyle changes

  • Strengthening support networks

Care Management

We coordinate with primary care, hospitals,

inpatient behavioral health and substance use facilities, skilled nursing, and long term care to manage chronic  conditions, support transitions, and plan for client's future needs. If medication is a recommended component of a client's treatment plan, we can prescribe directly, partner with their existing primary care provider or pharmacist, or help them find one for continued monitoring and support.

Resource Navigation

We support identification of and connection to community resources that address health related social needs. Assistance may include support with insurance enrollment, completing public housing applications, as well as referrals to specialized healthcare, education services, and more. 

Treatment Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy 

Focuses on identifying patterns in the thoughts and behaviors that you want to change. Sessions with a therapist center on pragmatic solutions and will include creating plans, using tools, and developing coping skills to shift thoughts and behaviors. 

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Focuses on accepting our thoughts and feelings, without trying to change them. Goals in this type of therapy are

self-directed, aiming to help people accomplish what matters to them.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Embraces the belief that  two opposite ideas can be true at the same time. Sessions focus on balancing self-acceptance of current circumstances, and also changing to build the future life we want.

Interpersonal

Therapy

Draws connections between your mood and relationships to underlying interpersonal issues. These issues could be due to recent life incidents connected to grief, social engagements, or professional resp.
